Last minute checks!

Dear all,

Having a look through your blogs, I have noticed not all of you have uploaded your magazine deconstructions.  In order to show you understand the conventions of a magazine, you MUST include deconstructions of magazines (I would say at least 3 - make sure you have front cover, contents page and double page spread).

Nearly there!

A little help with your blog...

For a little help with the evaluation, check out April's blog:  http://april-mccullin.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/evaluation.html.

Also, remember to detail your stages of production.

Question 7...

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

Compare your final piece to your prelim task.  Consider:

  • How you have improved.
  • What you have learnt.
  • How you got from the original point to where you are now.
  • What you had to learn.
  • What you would do differently now.
  • Are you pleased?
Remember: You have progressed and have developed as designers, be proud of this and talk about your awesomeness!

Question 6...

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

This  is where you detail all the technologies you have used during this process and explain what you have learnt about them.  You might want to:

  • Make a list of all the technologies you have used - could you do a wordle?  Remember, this includes cameras, as well as computer technology.
  • Consider if you have either learnt new skills or improved old ones.
  • What technology have you used in the organisation of this project?  Excel, word, blog etc.
It is really important you consider how you have got to where you are and how this has included the use of technology.

Black Butter Records

It is over to you know. You need to do some research.

  • Using the following sites (and any others you come across), make a detailed study of how Black Butter Records produce, distribute market and exchange their products.
  • Find out how big/small they are.
  • Find out who they produce and how popular these artists are.
  • Think about how we get their music.
  • How do they compare to/compete with the major record labels?
  • What technologies do they use?
  • What new media do they embrace?
  • Who are their audience?
